At Big Brothers Big Sisters of London and Area, we needed to diversify our revenue and we felt our granting stream was one of the first places to look. We had had some success, but felt we hadn’t truly unlocked the key to grant writing success in order to achieve the level of sustainability we wanted. The GrantsEdge workshop changed everything for us.
Throughout the workshop, the grant writing process was deconstructed in such a way that we understood exactly what we needed to do to write consistent grant applications. We left the workshop inspired, with new strategies, and ready to take on the grant writing challenge ahead.
We implemented the strategies we learned and were awarded grants that we never would have even applied for in the past. We no longer deal with mission drift, and we were able to develop strategic relationships with funders.
It was absolutely worth it for us.

So many grant writers miss a key step in the grant writing process – connecting with the funder! Grant writing success, in part, comes from understanding the perspective, priorities, and expectations of grant makers.
That’s why I was thrilled to hear that Sheila will be sharing her expertise through GrantsEdge. Sheila’s a seasoned grant maker, and her knowledge of the granting process provides a rare insight into how proposals can be crafted to get the attention of funders.
There is no one better suited to support grant writers as they seek to transform their ideas into applications that get funded.

As a funder who has worked with many organizations and reviewed hundreds of proposals, it is not unusual to receive grant applications that just don’t align with the opportunities we have available. Whether it is asking for amounts that are unattainable, misunderstandings about our geographic catchment area, or a failure to properly discern our funding focus areas, some grant writers have struggled to formulate successful and effective proposals.
Whether novice or expert, the various levels of support, resources, training, and information that GrantsEdge offers will benefit all grant writers. I have worked with the team who created GrantsEdge and through my experience gained an appreciation for their expertise, leadership, and professionalism. I am excited to see they are going to level the playing field for all grant writers.
Our community needs GrantsEdge because it will improve quality of life – the overarching goal of grants. By facilitating the development of stronger proposals, GrantsEdge is sure to be key to improved grant making and ultimately, a more vital community.
